The chairman of SPLM-N has declared a six months unilateral ceasefire in Nuba Mountains of South Kordofan.
Abdul-Aziz Adam Alhilu, in a statement notes that the cessation of hostilities will last until the end of next January, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
He calls on soldiers to abide by the ceasefire order and not to fire guns unless in situations of self-defense.
Earlier the Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed El Bashir extended the cessation of hostilities until October in South Kordofan, Blue Nile and Darfur.
