The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yei is urging the security personnel in the town to protect civilians in Yei.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe says there are plenty of security personnel and yet robbery and looting is ongoing in the town, Radio Easter reports.

He urges the security people to be the first peacemakers so that people have confidence of returning to Yei.

Bishop Lodu questions the security personnel of not arresting even one criminal associated with robberies in Yei town.

He says there are people putting themselves above the governor and the president by doing things contrary to the directives of the top leaders.

Yei town is witnessing series of criminal activities and many people including ECSSS pastors were looted at gun point.

The Bishop made the remarks at Christ the King Cathedral on Sunday.
