Heavy downpour on Monday caused serious flooding in the Nuba Mountains forcing patients at Mother of Mercy hospital’s to shelter outside.
The Mother of Mercy Hospital is seriously affected because the seasonal river burst its banks and water reached the bottom of the hospital’s buildings.
The flood has already extensively swept crops on the low land areas.
Many people who went to work have been stopped for several hours from crossing.
There are has not been such a flooding for decades, and many people say that the phenomenon has never happened in Nuba Mountains.
People fear that worse damages have been caused because of inaccessibility of other areas as water waves are still rough.
