Many schools ended the academic year poorly, says Commissioner of Heiban County in Nuba Mountains.

Said Kocho says the performance of the academic year in his county was weak due to lack of teachers and school stationeries, Radio Voice of Peace reports.

Most teachers left schools due to low payment, he adds.

The teachers are paid 300 Pounds, the amount that cannot help their families due to deteriorating economic situation, the commissioner notes.

Kocho mentions that next year’s school fee is 1000 Pounds to motivate teachers.

He says there is a committee to monitor the agreement but orphans may study free if the team found that they cannot afford.

The commissioner discloses that his county will work together with education secretary of the region to improve teacher’s incentives.

He encourages parents to send their children to school and all learned people to help in education field.

Commissioner Kocho advises young men and women to have hearts of serving their people not to run after big salaries.
