The Governor of Imotong condemns continuous abduction of children in the western part of the state, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Tobiolo Alberio Oromo says kidnapping of children has gone more than the past and is an abuse of kids’ rights.
He appeals to the international community to support the process of ending the bad practice in the state.
Governor Alberio says the practice of child abduction has made life difficult to people particularly women of Lowoi.
He says child kidnapping needs serious attention because it has become part of the culture of some communities.
The Governor urges the national government to find mechanisms of talking to communities practicing child abduction.
He worries that continuous kidnapping of children will force local residents to seek refuge in the neighboring countries for safety and protection of their children.
