The Chief Whip in Imotong State Legislative Assembly is calling on government and non governmental institutions to follow and respect the law.

Peter Otim Karlo says working according to the law will help strengthen the system of leadership, Radio Emmanuel reports.

To work effectively towards the rule law in the state, there must be separation of powers among the three arms of government, he adds.

Chief Otim cautions that if the three organs of the government are not working together, justice cannot not be achieved.

Most of criminal activities exist in the state due to absence of judicial organ, he cites.

The Chief Whip calls for respect of all government organs to improve the system of governance.

Transparency and accountability should be in place, he adds.

The official made the remarks in Torit on Friday during the community dialogue on the rule of law with institutions.

The workshop was for institutions to access justice and human right protections.
