United Nation Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS is enlightening citizens to rebuild trust and end tribal conflicts among communities of Yambio County of Gbudue State.
The sensitization seminar was organized under the theme: ‘It is possible to live together in peace’, Radio Anisa reports.
Stella Biome, UNMISS acting head officer in Gbudue State says the Mission is working together with all stakeholders to consolidate peace and reconcile communities in the country.
She calls on everyone to embrace peace, preach it and use progressive social values and norms that promote harmony.
The official urges communities to use peaceful means in resolving problems.
She also encourages communities to participate fully in the training and share ideas on how people can live peacefully as brothers and sisters.
Community members of Baiparu stress that they face a number of challenges requiring humanitarian assistance and security.
Gbudue State Deputy Governor Grace Datiro appreciates UNMISS’ efforts to sensitize communities to peacefully co-exist and reconcile.
She says the government will work hand in hand with UNMISS to restore lasting peace in Gbudue State.
UNIMISS together with different government officials has conducted the sensitization to communities of Ikpiro, Baiparu and Hai Tarawa areas.
