The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yei says the roads linking Yei to the outside parts are not yet opened.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe stresses that there seems to be too much exaggeration of the situation in Yei River State especially in the town, Radio Easter reports.

The Bishop also adds that there should not be too much overstatement of the situation of war, displacement and suffering of the people.

Bishop Lodu discloses that there are incidences of people going out of Yei due to the statements that roads are opened and they did not come back up to date.

The Catholic prelate says he would like to visit those who are said to have returned to understand their situation.

The Bishop made the statements during a meeting with the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Thursday.
