The Catholic Bishop of Tombura-Yambio commissioned forty-one trained acolytes to work in twenty-two parishes.

Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala appreciates Christians for having a big number of acolytes who will assist their priests by giving Holy Communion to people, Radio Anisa reports.

He urges the new acolytes to serve the faithful with humility and confidence.

Bishop Hiiboro urges Christians to control their life in different homes so that they can achieve the goal of a good family.

The diocese has also trained the Acolytes to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS so that they are able to live among communities, discloses Fr Raphael Diko, Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator.
