SPLA soldiers in Ezo County of Tombura State are appealing for more agricultural support to improve their daily lives.

Captain Mallon Ajuong says they are ready to combat hunger and poverty in the county, Radio Anisa reports.

Soldiers work is also to embark on agriculture to sustain their families because of the high cost in the market, he points out.

The main crops soldiers plant in Ezo military barracks are maize, groundnuts and okra, explains Captain Ajuong.

He mentions that relationship between soldiers and civilians in Ezo County has improved and there is harmony.

Sergeant Santino Mogat says if South Sudanese commit mostly to agriculture, the dollar will drop because every household shall have plenty of food stock.

Sally Ali Ambada, a Sudanese citizen, observes that South Sudan has the most fertile land that can supply East Africa if efforts are doubled to di it.

Corporal James Matur Riach, another SPLA soldier, mentions lack of sufficient tools such as hoes, slashers, pangas and seeds for cultivation.
