The Secretariat of Agriculture in Kauda in the Nuba Mountains has started cultivating and planting aims to reduce hunger in the region.
Kunda Philemon the project supervisor told Radio Voice of Peace that farming has many challenges but appreciates the spirit of cooperation among people.
He notes that some farms did not yield properly due to poor rains last year but others did well.
Philemon urges the community to take farming seriously noting that it’s the main source of stabilizing living because it is the year of planting and good things.
The people of the Nuba Mountains whose lives depend entirely on rain for their food production are experiencing hunger after poor rainy season last year.
