The ongoing war and ethic divisions may break South Sudan apart if nothing is done to end the current situation, warns a senior political analyst.

James Okuk, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Juba, says political crisis, tribalism and communal violence may disintegrate the country, Radio Bakhita reports.

He calls on political leaders and citizens to strengthen peace building efforts in the country.

Dr Okuk made the remarks on Tuesday during a forum for peace and dialogue where he presented a paper on challenges facing peace building in South Sudan.

The forum organized by the Institute for Development of Civil Society seeks to fight divisions and stereotypes to improve understanding and cooperation among civil society leaders, academicians and government officials.

It also aims at increasing the involvement of civil society organizations in the reconstruction and sustainable peace.
