The AFOD organization trained elders and nutrition staff in Wau on monitoring and counseling.

AFOD Nutrition Coordinator, Matata John Warren, says the training aims at teaching elders and chiefs about their roles on nutrition monitoring to ensure that right services reach beneficiaries, Radio Voice of Hope reports.

The workshop is also to help nutritionists with skills for identifying malnourished children in communities, he adds.

The Coordinator says the course will also give inputs to women on nutrition, how to feed children and taking care of pregnant and lactating mothers.

John appeals to the participants to share the knowledge they learned with mothers at their various communities.

The Coordinator advises people to refer pregnant mothers and malnourished children to health facilities for early treatment.

The official was speaking to Radio Voice of Hope on Tuesday.
