A priest of the Catholic Diocese of Torit is urging citizens and leaders in South Sudan to always tell the truth to avoid abusing innocent civilians even when it is bitter.
Fr Anthony Odoemelam criticizes the use of words to cover evils for the sake of keeping a good name and position, Radio Emmanuel reports.
He says a foundation built on lies is evil that will never stand in front of God.
It is only the truth that will bring peace to South Sudan, the priest points out.
Fr Odoemelam says the inability to speak and stand for the truth will only deny peace and development for the innocent people.
He was preaching at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church on Sunday in Torit.
