The University of Juba would be forced to close down before September due to lack of funds, discloses Vice Chancellor.

Radio Bakhita quoted Professor John Apuruot Akec saying the institution is lacking money to operate until the end of the academic year.

He calls on the government to pay great attention to the university in order for it to implement programs well.

The fees paid by students at the university will not be enough to cater for the services in the institution, Professor Akec adds.

He blames Council of Higher Education, whose chairpersons were appointed two years ago, while, its members are yet to be assigned.

Vivian Kakule, Advisor in the Ministry of High Education, appeals to the business community and the other partners to support the university.

The officials spoke during the passing out of 1,045 graduates from different colleges and specializations in Juba on Saturday.
