Citizens of former Rumbek East are complaining of increase of road ambushes and looting at Nemthok of Eastern Bahr al Naam and Cueicok of Among-piny Counties.
They told Radio Good News on Friday that people are likely to die of hunger because criminals blocked roads at Nemthok.
Information Minister Madong Muorwel Nyoot confirms that the groups are hungry criminals who attack cars to loot food and other materials.
The government has intervened by dispersing the group from the road and all passengers are fine, he assures.
Minister Muorwel advises citizens to remain calm and patient to give a chance to the government to do its work.
