The media work like a bridge between the government and the people, Chairperson of Union of Journalists of South Sudan or UJOSS tells Lakes States’ journalists.

Oliver Modi Philip terms the media as a recognized forth pillar of the government worldwide, Radio Good News report.

He describes the media as an important organ that gives out information which has become economic commodity in the world.

Madong Muorwel Nyuot, Information Minister in Western Lakes State, refers media to the correctional tool, but not an opposition to the government.

‘There are some independent media houses which are always there to correct the government into rightful trends’, he adds.

The five-day training organized by Lakes State Journalists Association drew 30 participants from four media houses in Western Lakes State.

VISTAS supported the training.
