Radio Emmanuel 89 FM, a member of the Catholic Radio Network in the Diocese of Torit on Monday marked eight years of broadcasting.
The radio was established on June 19, 2009 under the slogan: ‘the Voice of Peace’ to enable communities access information on critical issues and create a platform for development, peace and reconciliation.
Radio Emmanuel Manager, Lillian Ochoo, appreciates listeners for their feedbacks to the improvement of the station programs.
She says Radio Emmanuel aspires to be a voice that educates, unites and avails information that leads to peace building and integral human development.
The Manager in a statement from Entebbe, Uganda tells listeners to cooperate with her team for quality services.
Ms Ochoo says they seek to bring about a station with a strong emphasis on locally produced programs.
It encourages creative expression and entertainment and promotion of true peace and reconciliation derived from the Gospel and human values.

Radio Emmanuel 89 FM, the Voice of Peace is a community based station owned by the Catholic Diocese of Torit located three kilometers south of Torit town.
The station offers balance news, peace building programs, community empowerment, civic education, health and spiritual programs.
