South Sudan is joining the globe in celebrating World Refugee Day on Tuesday.

The UN Refugee Agency and the Commission for Refugee Affairs are co-hosting the ceremony in Juba together with government officials, donors, partners, refugees and public.

Michael Chiangjiek Geay Mut, Minister of Interior, is expected to grace the ceremony at Nyakuron Cultural Centre.

South Sudanese singer Crazy Fox will be there to cheer on the festivities.

UNHCR will host a trade fair for handicrafts, jewels and clothes made by refugees and local communities.

World Refugee Day is a special day when the UN High Commissioner for Refugees raises awareness of the plight of displaced people throughout the world.

The Day was established in 2001 by the UN General Assembly to mark the date on which Organization of African Unity Africa Refugee Convention entered into force.
