South Sudan baking authorities invited financial institutions, forex bureaus and insurance companies to come to the region.
The Director for Administration and Finance in the Bank of Southern Sudan said in Torit during the inauguration of a KCB branch that the government of Southern Sudan welcomed more commercial institutions to boost the development of the private sector, Emmanuel Radio reported.Mr. Lomojo observed that a number of the financial institutions came to the region over the years but many more were needed to cover the entire region.
There are a few foreign banks operating in South Sudan, including Kenyan Commercial Bank and Equity Bank, from Kenya, and Ethiopian Commercial Bank. Other institutions are expected to start operation soon in South Sudan including banks from Egypt and Qatar.
