Apostolic Administrator condemns clashes in Imotong State

The Apostolic Administrator of Torit Catholic Diocese condemns the clashes between government and Opposition on Wednesday southwest of Torit town.
 
Monsignor Thomas Oliha Atiya describes the incident as unfortunate situation that happens during the national dialogue, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
He is worried that such clashes should not interrupt the national dialogue.
 
The Apostolic Administrator sends condolence to the bereaved families.
 
Monsignor Oliha urges the warring parties to lay down their weapons and seek peaceful means of resolving problems because the country needs internal solutions.
 
Charles Okullu, Chairperson for Civil Society Network Eastern Equatoria, says the civil population needs sustainable peace instead of violence.
 
Over 40 civil society organizations in Imotong State met and issued a press statement condemning the incident.
 
On Wednesday, the SPLA spokesperson Santo Domic confirmed that the SPLA-IO attacked their forces on Wednesday morning.
 
Efforts to reach SPLA-IO were not successful.
