Bishop Taban wins Hubert Walter award for reconciliation

The Emeritus Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Torit won Hubert Walter Award for Reconciliation and Interfaith Cooperation in South Sudan.
 
In a noted CRN got, Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, invited Bishop Paride Taban Kenyi to Lambeth Palace ceremony last Friday to receive the prize.
 
The award is in recognition of Bishop Taban’s outstanding contribution to reconciliation and interfaith work in South Sudan.
 
The Hubert Walter Award is one of a number of Lambeth awards, which are in the personal gift of the Archbishop.
 
Bishop Taban in later dated June 9, 2017, appreciated Archbishop Welby for nominating him for Hubert Walter Award for peace efforts in South Sudan.
 
The Catholic prelate describes the award as credit of activities of the Holy Trinity Kuron Peace Village and all people of South Sudan.
 
The Emeritus Bishop asks Archbishop Welby to continue praying for Church’s efforts to bring peace to South Sudan.
 
He says Church leaders in the young country pray for the success of the national dialogue.
