The recent attack along Nimule-Juba highway is undermining the ongoing peace process in the country, says Imotong State Peace Commission Chairperson.

Radio Emmanuel quotes Joseph Oswaha describing late Norah Imanya, who was killed in the incident, as a compassionate girl and daughter of God because she was always happy.

He advises the mourners to be peaceful and have strong faith in God.

Oswaha condemns the incident, describing the attackers as anti peace.

Hakim Paride Mamur, Secretary-General of Monyomiji Union says citizens of South Sudan are tired of death.

South Sudanese must consistently work for peace, he adds.

Imanya died in Nimule Hospital shortly after sustaining injuries in the incident.

A source tells Radio Emmanuel that late Imanya was on her way from Uganda to Juba to do research in the College of Law.

Late Imanya was a member of Seeds for Eastern Equatoria State Group who completed her South Sudan Secondary Certificate at Dr John Garang Memorial Secondary School in 2013 in Torit.

She later joined Kampala International University, College of Law until she met her death after finishing her fourth semester.

Imanya’s body was received by hundreds of mourners at Torit airstrip on Friday morning.

Police report indicated that 14 people lost their lives and ten others were injured in the deadly attack along Juba-Nimule highway

May their souls rest in eternal peace, Amen!
