A Church official urged the Sudanese people to avoid by any means a return to war, stating that war does not help anyone.
Fr. Martin Maulano is a diocesan priest from Mozambique serving at the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) as the second Deputy Secretary General.Fr. Maulano told Good News Radio that war was not good. He called upon the Sudanese people to avoid war by any means.
He encouraged the Sudanese people to exercise their freedom at the upcoming referendum and keep their African identity.
Fr. Maulano encouraged the Sudanese to foster communion among themselves saying that regardless of the results of the referendum the Church in the Sudan will be always one.
Fr. Maulano is in Rumbek taking part in the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ plenary as a visiting delegate from SECAM.
