Internally displaced youth in Wau are facing random arrests whenever they come out of the camp, reports a Youth representative who is taking refuge at Nazareth Church of Catholic Diocese.

Joseph Charles complains that the IDPs face a lot of problems, including harassment and diseases during and after detention.

He was giving a speech during the visit of Wau Mayor to the camp.

He says it is shameful for them to stay in IDP camp without work and education.

Charles accuses the government forces for asking money and cigarette under gunpoint.

He asks the government to release the youth who are still in detention for no reason.

CRN efforts to talk to authorities to comment on the matter could not succeed.

The youth representative appreciates the Church authorities for helping them in hard times.
