Muslims and Christians discuss peaceful co-existence in Wau

South Sudan Islamic Council, Wau State branch is holding a workshop under the theme: ‘Our power in our unity’ to discuss peaceful co-existence and reconciliation.
 
Two papers were presented on co-existence and crisis management to draw together Muslims and Christians to be ambassadors of peace in the state, explains Sheik Bashir Dor Uchu Secretary-General of State Islamic Council, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
 
The seminar brought together two hundred participants from different tribes to dialogue so that South Sudanese in Wau State live as one family after the crisis, Sheik Dor explains.
 
He wishes all participants to be peace preachers to educate people to show love, reconciliation and leave behind hatred.
 
There is need for compromise in dialogue for peaceful coexistence among communities, James Joseph Uyu, Minister of Local Government tells the people.
 
UN Mission in South Sudan, Wau office representative, Mustapha Tijani, notes that the Mission supports the initiative for peace to prevail in the state.
 
He pledges that UNMISS will support the national dialogue to succeed.
 
Tijani encourage all South Sudan to contribute with ideas to bring peace in the country.
