The Ministry of Health trained about 30 community health promoters of Torit counties on malnutrition management.

The training aims at educating home health promoters to reduce malnutrition rates in the state, Radio Emmanuel reports.

Antasia Sebastian, Acting Director for Nutrition in the Ministry, says the training helps to equip health promoters with skills to detect and screen malnourish children.

Morris Ohide, home health promoter, says he can now teach communities on health education and sanitation.

Another participant, Josephine Bakhita Patrick, says the training enable her to create awareness on hygiene promotion.

A participant like Benjamin George says he is ready to work hard in the community so as to reduce cases of malnutrition.

He calls on the state government to rally behind the promoters to decrease the rate of malnutrition in the state.

The speakers talked to Radio Emmanuel during the closing session of home health training in Torit on Wednesday.
