Bor and Pibor communities agreed to sign ceasefire agreement in Juba within seven days, says a member of the national high level committee.

Acuil Malith Bangol told Journalists at Juba Airport on Sunday that they asked the two communities to immediately stop hostilities in their areas.

The two communities in their meeting condemn the acts of child abduction, killing of innocent people, cattle raiding and renounce violence to resolve their problems, Malith area communiqué signed by Pibor and Bor representatives.

Awut Deng Acuil, Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, says tension this time is higher than before because many youth were involved in the fight.

She expresses national government’s commitment to bring to an end the fighting between two communities.

The committee expresses commitment to establish monitoring and enforcement mechanism to be stationed in Pibor and Bor areas, supported by the national government and UNMISS.
