Africa Medical Relief Foundation or AMREF is calling for more girls’ enrollment to join health and science training schools.
Morris Sojok, AMREF Country Director for South Sudan, says there are few girls practicing science in the young country, Radio Anisa reports.
AMREF is currently training health science students in Maridi National Health Institute where many professional health workers have been trained, he notes.
Sojok observes that Maridi Girls Boarding Secondary School has good infrastructure to bring up more young women in science section to become engineers, doctors, nurses and midwives to serve South Sudan.
AMREF chief urges young South Sudanese who want to become health personnel to joint their online courses at their head office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Sojok promises to bring in more of their programs through the Catholic Diocese of Tombura/Yambio in order to reach many citizens in Gbudue State.
Catholic Bishop of Tombura/Yambio, Barani Eduardo Hiiboro commends AMREF for being so close and having useful programs in Western Equatoria and South Sudan.
South Sudanese need a lot of practical and theoretical courses that will make them more capable to build the young country, he observes.
The two leaders spoke when AMREF Country Director visited the Catholic Bishop of Tombura/Yambio on Wednesday to share some important areas of cooperation.
