The general assembly of South Sudan Judges and Justices has announced an open strike action across the country after their demands have not been fulfilled.

Khalid Abdalla Mohamed, Judges and Justices Committee Chairperson, confirms to Radio Bakhita that all judicial services across the country would cease operation until their demands are met.

The Judges last week suspended their planned strike in order to engage in negotiations with the Office of the President to meet their demands.

None of their request was fulfilled, says Abdalla.

Last month, the Judges threatened to stage a strike over poor working conditions, pay increase, provision of transport allowances and demanded for the resignation of Chief Justice Chan Reec Madut.

They also demanded for the creation of court rooms for judges all over the country and appointment of more judges and support staff.
