The authorities of Boma State claim that their territory has recently come under attack by gunmen believed to have come from Jonglei State.

Achon John, Boma State Information Minister says the area has been undergoing a series of attacks since March 28 this year, Radio Bakhita reports.

He claims that the attackers were fully armed and in military uniforms.

Minister John says several citizens have been displaced to the bushes.

Meanwhile, Jonglei State Information Minister, Akeny Dengdit says he is not aware of any attack.

Tensions have been rising between Jonglei and Boma States over cattle raiding and child abductions.

Over the past few months, there were counter allegations between the two neighbors.

All efforts to resolve the conflict have failed so far.
