Gbudue State plans for general vaccination against Hepatitis B

The government of Gbudue State is planning to vaccinate the public in the area and Yambio against the killer Hepatitis B virus.
 
Hussein Enocka, Gbudue State Health Minister says the government is preparing to bring Hepatitis B vaccine to be accessible to all citizens, Radio Anisa reports.
 
He warns that Hepatitis B and C are more dangerous than HIV/AIDS.
 
Minister Enocka says when people are vaccinated against the diseases, they will not be vulnerable.
 
According to World Health Organization, WHO Hepatitis B is a viral infection that attacks the liver and can cause both acute and chronic disease.
 
The virus is transmitted through sex, contact with the blood or other body fluids of an infected person, it adds.
 
WHO says Hepatitis C is also a liver disease caused by the virus which can cause both acute and chronic hepatitis.
 
It is a blood borne virus and the most common modes of infection are through exposure to blood, including unsafe injection practices, unsafe health care and the transfusion of unscreened blood.
