The Expanded Program on Immunization or EPI will start on Wednesday in Yambio, Gbudue and Greater Western Equatoria region during African Vaccination Week.
The vaccination includes mothers and children between zero and five years because they are the most vulnerable, Radio Anisa reports.
Anisa Charles Paite, Communication officer for EPI program in Yambio appeals to all mothers to take their children for vaccination.
There are six major diseases always targeted on vaccine: Tuberculoses/ TB, Polio, Measles, Tetanus, Hepatitis B, Whooping cough, and hemophilia influenza, he explains.
These infective diseases can be eradicated in the country if only mothers and children are vaccinated.
The officer advises parents not to undermine vaccination because it is important for the wellbeing of children it fights against diseases, infective diseases so it should.
The vaccination for measles is expected to end on May 11 countrywide
