International Crisis Croup urges Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission or JMEC and partners to support the implementation of ceasefire and local dialogues between the government and the warring factions to mitigate the worst effects of the conflict.

The Group during its briefing entitled, ‘Instruments of pains: Conflict and famine in South Sudan’, says the humanitarian appeal needs to be fully funded.

It recalls that only 436 million US Dollars has been pledged out of 1.6 billion UN appeal for this year.

The body tells all actors to avoid politicizing humanitarian work to ensure that aid reaches those most in need.

The Group says humanitarian corridors through Sudan and other parts must be kept constantly open.
