The general assembly of South Sudan Judges and Justices is threatening to go on strike next Monday over administrative issues and poor working conditions.
Justice Geri Raymondo Legge, a senior Judge of the Court of Appeal, says all judicial services across the country would stop next Monday if their demands are not met, Radio Bakhita reports.
The South Sudan Judges and Justices assembly calls for the resignation of Chan Reec Madut, provision of cars for transport, stationeries and better working environment.
They also demand creation of court rooms for judges all over the country and appointment of more judges and support staff.
Chairperson of the Judges and Justices Committee, Khalid Abdalla Mohamed denies reports that the strike was prompted by delays in payment of salaries.
He accuses the Head of the Judiciary for ignoring their demands for reforms in the Supreme Court in the past two years.
Last year, Judges across South Sudan staged a month long strike over poor working conditions, salaries increment, provision of transport allowances and appointment of Judges.
The strike ended after the government agreed to meet the demands, but until now failed to implement some of its promises.
Radio Bakhita could not reach Chief Justice Chan Reach Madut for a comment by press time.
