The President of the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference or SCBC on Wednesday left Yambio Diocese for the Diocese of El-Obeid in the Sudan.
Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala says his trip is to participate in the consecration of Bishop-elect Trille Tombe, Radio Anisa reports.
In January Pope Francis appointed Fr Trille as the Bishop of the Diocese of El Obeid after assigning Bishop Michael Didi Archbishop of Khartoum.
SCBC President expects to chair extraordinary meeting of the Bishops after the consecration to discuss issues affecting the two countries.
Bishop Hiiboro says some priests will work in Khartoum, Uganda and Kenya where most of the sons and daughters have taken refuge.
He appeals to Christians to pray for the Bishops and maintain peace.
The Catholic prelate encourages everybody to cultivate to fight hunger in the country.
Before returning to Yambio, Bishop Hiiboro will attend the graduation of hundreds of students from the Catholic University in Juba.
The Bishop was speaking to Anisa Radio on Wednesday before travelling to El Obeid.
