The Chairperson of Star Support Group is calling for protection and support to orphans who lost their parents due to HIV/AIDs.
Raphael Kerembia says the Christian Brothers Community in the Diocese has started offering trainings to parents and caretakers for children living with HIV, Radio Anisa reports.
He says the Group gathered all children of five years and above for counseling and distribution of food and medical support every month.
Kerembia discloses that Caritas South enlightens them on balance diet and hygiene.
Christian Brothers’ organization is sponsoring some orphans in school without discrimination.
James Nunguruyo Diocesan HIV/AIDS field officer says if the orphans are not sensitized they will end up dying from the same sickness.
He says they trained the children on how to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS and continue with their education.
According to the previous report, 620 orphans were getting support from Star Support Group under Christian Brothers in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio.
