The National Constitution Amendment Committee on Thursday presented the Amendment Bill to the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

Minister of Justice Paulino Wanawila Unango, says the delay of the Bill did not affect the implementation of the peace agreement.

He pledges to pass the Bill to the Council of Ministers and later to the Transitional National Assembly.

The Chairperson of the Committee, Gichira Kibara cites a number of challenges that delayed the amendment of the Bill.

He says the first phase has finished, but the Committee is preparing for the longer Constitution making processes.

Gichira says they are continuing with the constitution making process in the transitional period.

The aim of the Amendment Bill is to include the Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan signed in August 2015.
