Insecurity in Wau town has resulted into killing of more than ten people and displacement of a big number from their homes.

Eye witnesses told Radio Voice of Hope that the shooting started early on Monday morning in Calvary area and people were killed and many were forced to run to Church compounds or UN camps for protection.

The Citizens have assured that the armed men were entering houses to loot and shoot people without mercy.

They call on the government to quickly intervention to save lives and collect guns from the hands of civilians.

Deputy Governor Anthony Charles Nberende says the government is still waiting for report from the hospital, particularly on casualties.

The government was able to arrest some perpetrators in military uniform who killed innocent citizens and they are now under investigation, he adds.

Nberende said he saw three dead bodies in Nazareth, two in Musalas and another one in Hai Bafra.

He denied the accusations that government army caused the insecurity in the state.
