The family of Eastern Lakes State detained ex-Information Minister, Nelson Makoi Majak is demanding legal rights for their son including charges against him.
Makoi’s family member, Deng Achol Dol, expresses concerns of his whereabouts in the state, Radio Good News reports.
He urges the state government to intervene quickly so that the family knows where the ex-minister being detained.
Achol points out that the detained ex-officials are the sons of Eastern Lakes State and public figures that should not be arrested like criminals.
The former Information Minister, Nelson Makoi was detained and being held at an unknown location with ex- Secretary-General Jacob Adut and Director-General in the Ministry of Education, Matiok Luke.
The arrest followed the destructive demonstration carried out by students of Panakar Secondary School joined by street children.
Eastern Lakes State government could not be reached for comment.
