Residents of Tali County in Terekeka State complain of lack of clean drinking water and food.

Citizens told Radio Bakhita that inability to access medical services is another big challenge facing them.

The citizens also cite hardship in paying the tuition fees as one of the major obstacles to education in the area.

Tali County Commissioner Angelo Maring confirms that the population faces food insecurity due to insufficient rainfall last year.

He says the area has no clean drinking water because broken boreholes have not been rehabilitated.

Maring says he recently wrote proposals to the Terekeka State and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan to help the people with food and water.

He calls on the residents to embark on agriculture to fight the looming hunger.

Commissioner Maring says he is currently applying efforts to rehabilitate the road for free movement of people.
