The head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan urges the government to investigate the killing of six aid workers and bring the perpetrators to justice.

David Shearer in a statement CRN saw says murdering relief workers is absolutely wrong because they are dedicated to help the people of South Sudan.

The government should not be allowed offenders to go unpunished because the attack occurred in its controlled area, he points out.

The aid workers killed who were from a national non-governmental organization came under attack on Juba-Boma road on Saturday morning.

Their bodies were found on the road by other members who were traveling in a convoy.

The death of humanitarian workers brings the total number of aid workers killed in the country to around 80 since 2013.

The UN says in the past two months, there has been a sharp increase in attack on aid workers and their premises.
