The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning says it has saved 300 million South Sudan pounds after foreign medical travels for civil servants were stopped last year.
Finance Minster Stephen Dhieu Dau, told reporters on Wednesday that the medical treatment abroad used to cost the government nine percent of the national budget, Radio Bakhita.
He said the government has also cancelled 12 billion SSP of the unpaid checks.
Minster Dhieu says his ministry seeks to improve revenue collection, restrict withdrawal among others.
