African Medical Relief Foundation or AMREF, Health Africa South Sudan and GIZ, recruited one hundred and seventy-two safe and water change agents in Yambio Municipality.
Yuasa Tito Malesh, AMREF Coordinator in Yambio says the enrollment aims at conducting field education on the use of safe water and hygiene in Yambio residential areas, Radio Anisa reports.
He says a one safe water agent will move to five households per day and 20 households per week.
Elvira Elia Ngbadegbe discloses that safe water agents will visit the same homes every week to know if communities are improving.
AMREF and GIZ say women are essential in this role as they are the managers at homes.
Females should move from home to home to educate people on the use of safe water and hygiene, Elia adds.
Yambio, Nakpangau, Naduru, YMCA, Hai Bakindo, Naduru Pazuo are the five primary schools that will benefit from the project in the town centre.
The aim is to reach 3500 households to use safe water and proper hygiene.
