Balanda community in United States of America donated one thousand one hundred US Dollars for buying food to assist three hundred fifty vulnerable people at home.

Parish Priest of St Mary of the Catholic Diocese of Wau Peter Benardo, says the Balanda community in Diaspora sent to them the money for supporting the elderly and the disabled persons, Radio Voice of Hope reports.

He says 24 bags of sorghum and five bags of sugar were bought and now being distributed at Jebel Kheir Center and other places.

Each person is supposed to receive one gallon of sorghum and one kilo of sugar but the number gone beyond their expectations.

We decided to register only vulnerable people from the residential areas because those in the IDPs camps are already being supported by some agencies, explains the parish priest.

Some of the vulnerable people appreciate the good gesture their Diaspora community has shown.

Fr Bernardo says the group promised to continue their support.
