Minister of Health launches polio campaign in Tonj

Tonj State Ministry of Health in partnership with an Italian medical organization CCM launched polio campaign in Tonj Civil Hospital on Friday.
 
Acting Governor Manhiem Bol Malek described the exercise as fruitful and meant to minimize polio in South Sudan, Radio Don Bosco reported.
 
He says polio can be prevented if people can allow young children to be vaccinated against the disease.
 
Doctor Akotdit from Tonj Civil Hospital says they target 218,539 from zero to five years old by giving them two drops of polio vaccines this year.
 
Meanwhile CCM representative Agut Majok Adek calls for vaccination of all school children to prevent them from polio.
 
He urges the communities to wait for the house to house immunizers at home.
 
Some of the government official attended the occasion.
