Communities of Akok and Joth, Mayom Payam of Malek County appeal to the governments and humanitarian agencies to give them basic services including health, shelters and clean water.

Chiefs and community members made the call during a meeting with Minister of Health Deng Kuok and the representative of Doctors for Africa or CUAM on Tuesday, Radio Good News reports.

They complain of sleeping under trees, no hospitals and hundreds of households share only one borehole.

The ministry and partners will construction a health center and supply drugs to the communities, minister and accompanying representative assured the delegation.

Communities of Malek, Amongpiny and Rumbek North Counties are resettling in their ancestral lands after more than a decade of displacement.

However, lack of shelters, water points, medical care and food could make their resettlement difficult.
