Japan contributes 500,000 dollars to support agro-business in South Sudan

The Japanese government donates half a million US Dollars to support small scale farming and boost agro-processing in the young country, announces Japanese Ambassador to South Sudan.
 
Kiya Masahiko says the donation will help the Ministry of Trade and Industry to strengthen product certification and quality assurance, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
He adds that the contribution is part of 24 million dollars assistance Japanese government pledged to support reconstruction efforts in South Sudan.
 
Minister of Trade Moses Hassan Tiel says the money will help in developing policies that govern small scale farming and promote locally produced agriculture products.
 
The fund will be implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization or UNIDO.
