Sudanese President Omer Al-Bashir directed his government to provide necessary support for supplying relief to famine affected areas, says Foreign Minister.
Ibrahim Ghandour says the support will be done in coordination with various ministries and institutions, Radio Bakhita reports.
He says President Al-Bashir stresses the need to secure and facilitate delivery of humanitarian aid to South Sudan.
The Minister points out that the Sudan is supporting South Sudan due to the current conditions the country undergoes.
Ghandour says it is important for the Sudan to provide all forms of support until South Sudan overcomes the humanitarian crisis and suffering.
The spokesperson of South Sudan Ministry of Foreign Mawien Makol says the move would strengthen relations between Juba and Khartoum.
Government officials declared that 100 thousand people are facing starvation in parts of the country while 4.9 million of them need urgent humanitarian aid.
Last Tuesday, President Salva Kiir pledged to provide aid agencies access to the needy population across the country.
