International Organization for Migration or IOM has resumed operations in Malakal after suspension due to deteriorating insecurity.
Bakhita Radio quotes Information Officer, Ashley McLaughlin as saying, the agency evacuated its staff in Wau Shilluk after clashes.
The clashes led people to flee from the area.
She says IOM clinics in Malakal have been reopened despite insecurity.
McLaughlin adds that IOM has a rapid response team in Kajo-Keji providing primary health care assistance.
She says the humanitarian needs for the displaced people are very high to turn away from.
The fighting that erupted in Upper Nile’s Wau Shilluk early this month forced more than 20 thousand people to flee.
